Finding the Problem:
After interviewing users, we compiled their stories into one narrative of finding the right dish for them.
Indecision is fueled by a lack of information. Existing reviews are conflicting and only more confusing.
People tend to move on with life after a meal instead of leaving a review unless they get something out of it.
Breaking the Problem Down:
An in-depth breakdown of the ordering process gave us insights into how people are currently seek solutions.
People get a quantitative consensus about a dish or restaurant from Yelp but still do not feel like they have the whole picture so they seek guidance from a friend or waiter.
Solving the Problem:
Povide qualitative context behind reviews. Users want reviews from people who's opinions they trust as a supplement to the general consensus.
Design iterations: Paper Prototypes
The final design was a social platform for food suggestion among friends and followers. This gives context behind reviews and encourages people to leave reviews for friends to see.
