Hear Clear

My design team was interested in designing a set of ear protecting muffs that could be toggled on and off mechanically with a button rather than having to remove the muffs when it is necessary to hear.  As we empathized with our users we found how uncomfortable it is to have the ear muffs pressing the frames of your safety glasses against your head.  We made our product more interesting and more daring by including safety glasses in the product.  The frame of the glasses are made with a flexible plastic that is capable of providing the tension necessary to keep the muffs on the users head without the need for a headband.  Check it out on the Dyson Award Website.
